Parenting workshops
Our program “Healthy Families” offers two 5-week courses that run simultaneously, one for parents with children under 12 and one for parents with teenagers.
Course for parents with children under the age of 12
The objective of this course is to develop skills for parents to raise their children in a healthy environment free from violence. The curriculum for this program consists of: Family structure, Parenting styles, Self Esteem / Methods of discipline, Child development and Domestic violence.
Course for parents and adolescents
The objective of this course is to develop skills for parents to raise their children in a healthy environment free from violence. The curriculum for this program consists of: Family structure, Adolescents rights and privileges, Self- esteem, money and stress management, Communication and conflict resolution, Domestic and teen dating violence.
All services are bilingual (English/Spanish).
Funding for these programs is provided by the Chicago Department of Public Health.
