Shrine of Saint Jude
The Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus, located inside St. Pius V church, is a ministry of the Dominicans Friars of the Province of St. Albert the Great, Chicago, which began on October 20, 1929. Each year Saint Jude continues to earn the title "Saint of the Impossible!"
Each week, the Shrine receives nearly 2,000 prayer requests from people seeking help for their special needs.
Catholics have a long tradition of praying to saints which is sometimes misunderstood. With all Christians, we accept the First Commandment and adore only the Most Blessed Trinity. Praying to saints is not a substitute for praying to God, whom we acknowledge as the source of everything.
We pray to saints as are our olders sisters and brothers who have lived what we ourselves experience now. We ask them to intercede for us with God.
